October 2016

In the first few weeks of prekindergarten classes, we spent time talking about rules and practicing the routines. They know it very well that even I don't speak and just show my cardboard signal, they would do what is asked of them to do. They know how to organize things/toys by putting it back to where it belongs. We have been also having a lot of fun and we are busy learning so many things. We talked about calendar, weather and seasons. We learned about shapes and colors and did a few activities. We sing and we dance. Children were also doing a lot of coloring. Going to the gym is one of their favorite time of the afternoon. They love to run, and play "What time is it, Mr. Wolf?".

This month our theme is focused on Fall and Thanksgiving. We will be doing a lot of activities about fall and thanksgiving. We will discussed things that we should be thankful for.

Our theme for the next few weeks is going to be Halloween.  We will be having a Halloween theme party of October 28 (Friday). NO COSTUMES PLEASE.  However, the Pre-K’s can wear orange and black to our party. The children are welcome to bring a snack for themselves as they usually do. We are going to have a Spooktacular time.

A few quick reminders:
*   Please send a healthy snack with your child for snack time. Thank you to those parents who already did.
     *  Families are invited to purchase tickets to attend the Halloween Family Party on Saturday, October 15th - at which time everyone is welcome to come dressed in costume.
     *   Friday, October 21st, there is NO SCHOOL.
     *   Wednesday, November 2th is Picture Day.

We have had an excellent start of the year and I hope that the Pre-K’s are having as much fun as I am so far this school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school or speak with me before or after class.

I would also like to thank the parents who willingly shares their time in volunteering. It is very much appreciated.

Thank you and take care!
