September and October

Time flies so fast! In the first few weeks of classes, we spend time talking about rules and practicing the routines. Children knows how to organize things by putting things back to where it belongs. We have been also having a lot of fun and we are busy learning so many things. We learned and discussed about the importance of families and its members and the things that we are thankful for. We have been also very busy making different arts and crafts like the family tree, a collage of their favorite food, made their own turkey, and hand print spiders with web. We also spent some time learning about letters, colours, shapes, and numbers. Children were doing coloring, tracing and cutting. Going to the gym is one of their favorite and much-awaited time of the afternoon. We have lots of fun in running, kicking and catching the ball. They also enjoyed playing tag and “What time is it, Mr. Wolf?”

Our theme for the next few weeks is going to be Halloween. We will be painting mini pumpkins and carving our own pumpkins. We will be having a Halloween party of October 30 (Friday). NO COSTUMES PLEASE.  However, the Pre-K’s can wear orange and black to our party. The children are welcome to bring a snack for themselves as they usually do. We are going to have a Spooktacular time.

A few quick reminders:
*   Please send a healthy snack with your child for snack time. Thank you to those parents that already do that.
     *   Please try to have your child use the bathroom before our class begins.
     *  Families are invited to purchase tickets to attend the Halloween Family Party on Saturday, October 24th - at which time everyone is welcome to come dressed in costume.
     *   Friday, October 23rd, there is NO SCHOOL.
     *   Wednesday, November 4th is Picture Day.
     *   Friday, November 6th there is NO SCHOOL
     *   Wednesday, November 11th there is NO SCHOOL – Remembrance Day
     *   Friday, November 20th there is NO SCHOOL – Student-Led Conferences

We have had an excellent start of the year and I hope that the Pre-K’s are having as much fun as I am so far this school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school or speak with me before or after class.

I would also like to thank the parents who willingly shares their time in volunteering. It is very much appreciated.

Thank you and take care!

Mrs. Francisco
